This countryside residential area, known locally as the last frontier, is cradled in between Wellington to the south, Royal Palm Beach to the east and The Acreage to the north and west. The residents in the area felt the need to preserve the rural country atmosphere so they formed the Committee to Incorporate Loxahatchee Groves. They are currently seeking approval from the State of Florida to become the 38th community in Palm Beach County

The area is known for having predominately dirt roads that people with an equestrian interest enjoy. Some of the equestrian owners enjoy riding their horses on the dirt roads and the trails in the Natural Area located near North Road and E Road. There are also new trails being developed along the western side of the canals that run north and south and the major east and west roads.
